Who We Are

Inter-Peace Agency for Sustainable Development (IPASUD) is a community-based organization (CBO) founded in August 2022 and registered with the Department of Social Services and Development on 18th September 2022 (Registration No: CC/TRKC/CBO/HC/7312).

We are based in Kanamkemer Ward, Turkana Central Sub-county, Turkana County, northwestern Kenya. Our work extends across the five North Rift counties of Turkana, West Pokot, Baringo, Samburu, and Marakwet.

IPASUD was formed to address the complex challenges facing pastoral communities, including inter-community conflicts driven by cattle rustling that has evolved from a traditional practice into a commercial enterprise using sophisticated weapons, and the devastating effects of climate change on vulnerable populations.

Our Mandate

  • Mobilize resources for community development
  • Sensitize communities on peace and conflict sensitivity
  • Implement programs for sustainable development
  • Support the elderly, children, and people living with disabilities
  • Promote alternative livelihoods and climate resilience
